Julia Dent Grant's 200th Birthday Commemoration
An Evening of History, Heritage & Hospitality
Join us for a once-in-a-lifetime celebration honoring the 200th birthday of Julia Dent Grant, devoted wife of General and President Ulysses S. Grant, First Lady of the United States, and daughter of the historic Dent family.
Spend an unforgettable evening immersed in the rich history of the grounds where Julia's story began.
Your evening includes:
Exclusive Historian-Led Tour of Hardscrabble
Begin the evening with a private guided tour of the historic Hardscrabble cabin with support from our neighbor, the Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site. Food Historian Suzanne Corbett will walk you through the culinary period during Julia’s time at the farm for an immersive experience.
Private Tram Ride Through Deer Park
Board a private tram for a scenic journey through Deer Park, offering a peaceful passage through one of Grant's Farm's most iconic landscapes, with a special stop at the former site of Wish-ton-wish.
A Farm-to-Table Culinary Experience
Your evening culminates with a lavish, multi-course farm-to-table dinner served throughout the historic Bauernhof Courtyard and Carriage Haus. Thoughtfully crafted by Chef Sam Niemann, each course celebrates the seasonal flavors and agricultural traditions of Missouri, featuring ingredients sourced from local producers while paying tribute to Julia’s legacy of gracious hospitality.
Food Historian Suzanne Corbett will walk you through the culinary period during Julia’s time at the farm for an immersive experience.
